Annie Lennox Does it Again

Did anyone watch the 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremonies last night?  If you missed it you also missed one of our fav lovers of the eighteenth century singing on a pirate ship in Elizabethan-esque garb while ship-wrecked Georgians minuet-ted beneath her.  It was a definitive diva performance as you would expect.  For those who missed it, check it out below.

  1. Yes I watched it, every moment up until midnight and what a show it was! Annie Lennox is one of those singers from 'my era' and she certainly showed she can still give a great performance. Loved the ship and the costumes were superb.

My daughter was in Hyde Park and said the atmosphere was just as electric there with everyone being nice to each other. Why can't it always be like that?

  2. Indeed! Yet another reason to be sad that the Olympics have ended. It was a good one this year!

  3. Annie Lennox was absolutely grandiose and stunning. I watched it and you could feel the electrifying atmosphere and her charisma through the telly. I enjoyed every minute. And the dancing entourage was also fantastic in these costumes. Superb.

  5. Wonderful! Would have liked to see more of the Georgian costumes however.

  6. Not only was her set impressive, but her charisma was phenomenal. I was reminded of how actors portray the great Tudor rulers; her stride was all energetic industriousness. Quite fabulous.
